Our customer entrusted their family heirloom to our care for repairs and refinishing. Generations of their family had used and preserved this fine piece; however, time had taken its toll. The side handles were bent in, the legs were crooked and the base was cracked and nearly broken in two. Additionally, one of the wood knobs was missing on the cover. We straightened both handles, and removed many dents. Next was soldering the cracked areas and polished the brass, saving the detailed engraving from the maker. A clear lacquer coating was then applied to seal the surface. Finally, a new wooden knob was turned and painted to match the others. This Samovar is now ready to be handed down to the next generation!
